Police's 'call us' plea

17/ 7/2008

POLICE are leaving calling cards in a bid to encourage the public to get in touch.

The cards are available at police stations and public buildings across Rochdale and list useful telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Chief Inspector Julian Snowball said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for the public to e-mail, telephone or speak directly to officers responsible for their area to report incidents or raise any concerns.

“Neighbourhood policing is all about ensuring that people can discuss with their officers the issues that affect their communities.

These cards are an effective way of improving communication between the communities of Rochdale and their neighbourhood police.”
