THE family of a teenage motorcyclist killed in a rush-hour accident have paid tribute to the ‘nicest, funniest, most lovable lad you could meet’.

Zachary Storm Taylor, 17, of Stiups Lane, Turf Hill, died on Monday morning after attempting to overtake a BMW as he rode along Bury Road.

He was thrown from his Suzuki motorbike and collided with a Peugeot 206 travelling in the opposite direction.

The Bury College student, who wanted to become a music teacher, suffered serious injuries in the crash and died a short time later in Rochdale Infirmary.

In a joint statement his mother and stepfather, Lindsey and Mark Kershaw, and his dad Stephen Taylor, said: "Zachary’s main passion was music and that is what he wanted to do when he was older.

"He was the nicest, funniest, most lovable lad you could meet.

"This is a terrible accident and we will miss him so much, as will all his other friends and family.

"Zachary’s death has left a hole that cannot be filled.

"We love you so much."

As the Observer reported on Wednesday, police were looking for the driver of car thought to have left the scene after witnessing the crash, but say they have now spoken to all motorists involved.

Sgt Kevin Woodward said: "This tragic accident has resulted in the death of a 17-year-old lad.

"His entire family have been left devastated by what happened.

"I would like to hear from anyone that witnessed the collision or was in the area in the minutes before or after it."

Witnesses to the incident should contact 0161 856 8473.
