CONCERNS have been raised over leaked CCTV footage showing a brutal fight outside a town centre nightclub.
The clip put up on video sharing website YouTube shows a violent clash between two men outside Trax.
The three-minute YouTube clip has received almost 600 views since it was posted around two weeks ago.
It is not known where it came from although it appears to be a video taken of a monitor showing CCTV footage.
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, which is responsible for CCTV cameras in the town, says it believes the footage came originally from one of its cameras.
It said it was aware of the leak and had carried out an investigation.
A spokeswoman said: "This incident occurred in December 2006.
"We became aware that this footage had been disclosed without authorisation in summer 2007 and this was fully investigated internally by RBH at that time."
The company said there were security procedures for the protection of footage, which were carried out correctly.
But the film could be viewed by a number of people, including internal investigators or defence solicitors.
The footage is among a number of clips on the site that show Rochdale in a poor light.
One clip shows a car driven at speed outside the town hall and spinning around in the car park.
Another shows a firework apparently being fired at Rochdale police station.
MP Paul Rowen said he was ‘disgusted’ at the footage and called it an ‘appalling advert’ for Rochdale.
He is now demanding the footage is removed.
Mr Rowen said: "These thugs send out the wrong message and one that is unacceptable.
"I will be asking a number of questions in Parliament about the issue of law breaking on the internet."
He added he had reported the clips in question to the owners of the website to be taken down.
YouTube’s policy on their site is: "Our policy prohibits inappropriate content on YouTube...users can flag content that they feel is inappropriate and once it is flagged...we also disable the accounts of offenders."
