SMALLBRIDGE AND FIRGROVE: Amna Mir (Lab)

ON 1 MAY I will be standing to bring you better facilities and make Smallbridge and Firgrove a cleaner and safer place. Above all, I want to restore some local pride.

I have lived here for over 20-years.  I help children with reading and writing skills at a local school and want to do more for my community.

When I look at how our area has changed under the Lib Dems, the most visible reminder of how we have been neglected is the fact that fly tippers are ruining our environment. The Lib Dems have made just one prosecution for fly tipping in the past year.

As a mother myself, I know many hard working families who want a safer, cleaner and more supportive place for their children to grow up. We are trying to achieve this.

In recent weeks our Labour Parliamentary Candidate, Simon Danczuk, has worked hard to get our Government to give Rochdale £2.5 million to improve play areas. Better children’s play areas will help steer young people away from crime and anti social behaviour. This will have a positive impact on the whole community.

Working with you I will make our streets safer, get more support for the elderly, better facilities in our schools and build a stronger community together.

There are many challenges to rise to in order to help our area reach its full potential. With your vote I will strive to do this and make sure you are fairly represented with a real commitment.
