Gang hit teenager with crowbar during robbery

A TEENAGER was hit with a crowbar before robbers stole his iPod.
Police say the 14-year-old was walking along Cutgate Road, Passmonds, at about 6.45pm on Saturday when he was approached by a group of about 20 to 25 youths.
One of the gang hit him about the legs with a crowbar before demanding he hand over his MP3 player. The teenager suffered bruising in the attack.
About one hour earlier the same gang are believed to have stolen a mobile phone from a 13-year-old boy, before another youth demanded they hand it back.
The boy was walking through Oulder Hill School at about 5.30pm when he was approached by the gang. One of them threatened him and demanded his mobile phone. But after handing over his phone another teenager, who saw what happened, ran over and ordered he return it.
The suspect is described as being Asian, about 15 to 18 years old, with short dark hair, wearing a black hooded top.
