NATIONALLY, Labour have made a mess of things,they are not in control of events, have lost touch with ordinary people and have no solutions to the real economic problems which are beginning to cause hardship to people on low wages, or fixed incomes.
To make matters even worse, they have increased income tax for the poorest paid workers.
Locally the Lib Dems are even worse.Seventeen of their members have resigned in Milkstone and Deeplish, being so disillutioned, that their candidate from last year's election is standing against them.They spend so much time fighting amongst themselves, that the actual running of the Council is being neglected.
The independent Audit Commision recently inspected the Lib Dem run Council and downgraded it from a three star authority to a two star. Adult care,which looks after the most vulnerable people in Rochdale, was awarded the lowest mark of one star.This means that where we should be doing the best, we are doing the worst.
Rochdale has now been judged to be one of the worst performing Councils in the Country.
I believe it is not only time for a change in Milkstone and Deeplish but also throughtout Rochdale Borough,the only alternative is the Conservatives.
