18/ 3/2008

THREE hooded teenagers dragged a man from his motorbike as he waited at a pedestrian crossing.

The 25-year-old victim was beaten about the face and back before one of the thugs rode off on his Yamaha bike. Two other attackers made off on foot.

The incident took place close to the Waggon and Horses pub in Manchester Road, Brimrod, at about 9pm on Saturday.

Two of the robbers are described as white, about 16 years old, 5ft 10ins, wearing white hooded tops and black tracksuit bottoms. The third is described as being of a similar age and race, but about 5ft 5ins tall.

In a separate incident 90 minutes later a taxi driver was robbed of his takings. The 64-year-old was sat in his car on Crescent Road, Marland, when a man opened the door and yelled abuse at him before stealing a bag containing £53.

Police have described the robber as a white man, in his mid 20s, stocky, wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.
