Robber's silent threat to staff

A ROBBER chose a sinister but silent method to frighten a cashier in an attempt to get his hands on a mobile phone and cigarettes.
The man had approached the woman cashier at AJ’s Off-licence on Haifax Road, Smallbridge, on Tuesday night.
But instead of telling her his demands he simply passed a note over the counter which stated he would shoot her in the chest if she did ‘anything stupid’.
“You know what I want, put it in the bag,” it went on to read.
The offender then escaped with the woman‘s Samsung mobile phone and some packets of cigarettes, worth a total of £15.
He is described as Asian, about 6ft tall, slim and in his mid to late 20s. He wore dark clothes, including a top with a hood up and a scarf wrapped around his face.
