Man flees burning car

A MAN had a lucky escape after his car burst into flames on a busy Rochdale road.
The fire began after the Mondeo collided with a Jaguar on Edinburgh Way, near its junction with Sandbrook Park, at about 11.20pm on Thursday.
Fortunately both drivers suffered only minor injuries and were taken to Rochdale Infirmary as a precaution.
Traffic had to be diverted back through Rochdale while police dealt with the aftermath of the crash.
