Neck broken in car crash

A ROCHDALE woman was rushed to hospital with a broken neck following a car smash.

The 41-year-old lost control of her Vauxhall Vectra on a left hand bend on the A627 at the start of Broadway, Oldham, going up an embankment, over a barrier and across a slip road before the car turned over on to its roof.

She is now being treated at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

Thursday night’s accident, which happened at about 8.30pm, forced police to close part of the road for over three hours as they cleared the wreckage.
