We have sent this article to our newphew who is a civil engineer in the USA. When we mentioned what was going on in Rochdale he couldn't take it in-asbestos is taken much more seriously over there. Are we not important? Thank goodness that something will get done about this now. Without good reporting what could bad companies get away with?

   As somebody that used to visit to TBA factory many years ago, I have been following the reporting of what is going on in the Rochdale Observer with much interest. I could not believe that a building company would ever be able to build houses there. This is a badly polluted area. What the builders have tried to do is wicked. Of course there is asbestos there. Why have they tried to deny it? Did they think the whole town would be so stupid?

   The developers have lost the trust of the public. This started when they were stupid in destroying the trees, but this has gone from bad to worse with their attempts to deny facts about asbestos tips and test results. How can this town trust them ever again?

   If the developers have told lies, they should be prosecuted and jailed.
