Telephone boxes may be cut off
Katie Fitzpatrick13/ 8/2008
EIGHT public phone boxes could be axed because of the the rising popularity of the mobile phone.
British Telecom has already earmarked two phones in Norden and a couple in Todmorden Road, Littleborough, for removal.
What a sad loss. No more cramming into a urine filled little box and being ripped off to make a phone call.
Thank God for my mobile phone.

If half of all phone boxes make 1 call or less per month, how many calls do the ones in Rochdale make? If the person in Norden claims its is a lifeline and is used, get the evidence. I doubt it is. Its like Post Offices. We all want them, but most rarely use them.
