Mum-to-be and baby in double tragedy

by Alice McKeegan
5/ 8/2008

A TEENAGE mum-to-be has died – along with her unborn baby – just weeks before she was due to give birth.

Kayleigh Burke, aged 17, of Ansdell Road, Turf Hill, was rushed to Rochdale Infirmary on Thursday after suffering crippling pains.

Doctors in the accident and emergency department battled to save her for almost five hours, but her heart failed.

Sad to hear of this tradgedy, but the comments about Rochdale Infirmary, by Pixipink, are a bit over the top.

doctors now are to quick to say pain in the stomach is urine infection.i took my daughter to burnley hospital 2 years ago and they sent her home when she was being violently sick and was in crippling pain.they said it was water infection then less then 3 hours later she was rushed in theatre with burst ependix.she very nearly died.its disgusting to treat people like that.my thoughts go out to her family and most of all to her partner as he hasnt just lost his partner he has lost his child as well.xxx
