Now when I was growing up and living in Rochdale it seemed like we did not have the Problem with the (Gypsy's) Travelers. Didn't they have certain lands were they could park. Such as Lenny Barn. Kronkyshaw Commons. big place in Heywood. There must be some vacant land someplace where they could be charged a small amount to park for a short time. Also the town could issure parking permits for a certain amount per month. a rebate could be given back once the have cleaned the place up prior to leaving. It could be ran as a city business now not a free service like years ago.

   Ya know it's right. The asians are very hard working people, the polish are simply employed here to drive wages down so get your facts straight.

   Easy sell there cars,pick ups+caravans to take care of the clean up and put big massive stones there,if they want a place to stay i suggest they ask first+dont claim benefits and are all checked out by national insurance numbers. As for the asian birth rate its the same rate as anglosaxon numbers. As for mandy and her foreign problem(zenophobia)the poles are decent hard working people who will take a job with lower pay(well under the minimun national wage(i wouldt but they just work)they pay there way and its true they sleep in cramped conditions. Id give them houses rather than the asians and chavvy whites who claim benefts and hang aroung town all day.

   People on a whole do not discriminate against these people, they are intitled to there nomadic way of life. What they are not intitled to do is ruin evry one else's way of life and that unfortunatly is what these that are travelling around now are doing. We have them on Turf Hill at the moment and it has been a nightmare, children are afraid to go out they have been threatened with weapons, pets have disappeared the other night they took a pet rabbit, pulled one of its claws out and were tossing it around with the intention of giving it to there dogs thankfully the rabbit was rescued and is now recovering but many have disappeared. They leave the place in a disgusting condition and the council tax payer has to pick up the bill. They have know respect for the unfortunate community they invade. It is about time the powers that be start to recognise that we have rights as well and recognise that untill then I'm afraid peoples attitude will not alter.

   I was at Halfords in Rochdale when they decended like locusts, in 08 registered vehicles, tippers with quad bikes on the back. These people aren't travellers, they're pikeys out to make a quick buck and leave a trail of destruction behind them. To have these vehicles, they have to be registered and presumable insured at an address. Maybe thay should clear off there. Traditional Romany travellers wouldn't treat the environment the live in with such contempt.

   The site in Rochdale was built in 1993/94 it was originally 16 plots for the travelling community, it was raised to 27, causing untold mayhem between themselves. The travelling community know the law, if there is a site in a town they are not allowed to dwell on other land, they must contact the council to be given an area to stop. be it middleton manchester, however what happens every yr the travellers from rochdale will go on the road, leaving an empty plot, the tax payer pays for this plot whilst they are away working while claiming benefits, well most of them, and then, the ones from other towns come to rochdale and camp anywhere they like, and easy solution is to find where the vehicle is registered and tell them they have to reside in the area of the said vehicle, and inform the local authority of where they are from where they are, and that they are not where they are claiming to be, get the tax man involved with the traveller that is camping and the traveler will flee. you all go on about other minorities, believe me the travelling community are taking the a lot of the good that is given them and abusing it. just like yes white people with buggies, just like the pakisatni just like all the europeans that have paid no contribution what so ever to our country. But that is what britain is about, great, Great Britain that land of the free, taken for granted. I would like to see a new Britain, a ukip britain, its up to the people to take a stand. not just give an opinion.

   Mandy40 i really think before making comments you should have a hard look around and see who is really taking up all the housing in rochdale?????trust me its not the eastern european people because theyre living in cramped spaces with maybe even 7 people in a house and renting the way

   I total agree with Ian Monks. They do not help themselves by littering the town up i agree, but my quirk is the way they are treated and discriminated against when this would cause an outcry with any other minority group.

Back to the travellers issue do you know Anglo that these people were refused holy communion because of the eviction time scale?

Can you imagine another religious group being refused thier rights to pray ?

There would be marches through the streets with burning effergies of our local councillors.

This is verging on race discrimination and seriously needs addressing.

This would NEVER ever happen to another minority group.

   I have no problem with these people moving around the country and living in caravans on "common" land.

What I do object to is the trail of destruction that is left behind (as shown in this case). If you were to show this sort of anti-social behaviour whilst living in a council house you'd soon have an eviction order or ASBO.

   Anglo i am not knocking the asians of this town you read my posts wrong. My quirk is these councillors like wera Hobhouse making comments like "The taxpayers will pick up the bill".

Well sorry Wera but i pick the bill up from foriegners using our nhs system to give birth and have operations when they never paid a penny into the system. As for Eastern Europeans coming here contributing , the money is not kept in this counrty, most of them share a house and send the money home to spouses, including child benefit paid by us taxpayers wera who are picking up the bill.

As for James Troisi's comment that the travellers now have to prove the caravans are thiers that is blatent theft.

How would he like it if someone towed his car away and he had to prove ownership to get it back?

These coucil officials are a law to themselves.

Lastly my heart bleeds for you having to clean up the site . How about applying some comman sense and give us rate payers back our weekly bin collection .

   Anglosaxon I don't need to drive through Deeplish as I live there and believe me there are as many non working Asians pushing prams waiting for the benefits office to open as whites pushing prams waiting for the pubs to open. I work for a living and don't see many people up on my way to work every morning be them White or Asian.
