Alice McKeegan

ARMED raiders stole a substantial amount of cash during a robbery at a petrol station.

Three masked men, wielding a machete and sledgehammer, walked into the BP garage in Edenfield Road, Norden, and then confronted two G4 security guards outside the store.

They escaped with a large amount of money following the shocking robbery which took place in broad daylight just before 11am on Monday.

When are we going to wake up? What is the point of having licensed security guards who do not have the tools for their work? They should be trained and issued with side arms. By killing this trash as they terrorize the population, they would have done society a good turn too. Yes our police should be armed too, what a copper with his or her little metal stick can do against a thug armed with a sledgehammer is difficult to see.
