Carcraft 'set to axe 50 or 60' workers

MORE than 50 jobs are set to be axed at one of the town's biggest employers.

Staff at the Nixon Street-based Carcraft head office have been warned to prepare for the worst after the firm started asking for voluntary redundancies.

   Why on earth have Carcarft not been given the chance to save jobs and relocate near the motorway at Kingsway? This business estate is empty and the economic downturn will not improve it anytime soon. The RDA should be doing all it can to keep what few successful businesses are left in Rochdale.
