Health bosses defend surplus

HEALTH bosses have defended their policies after it was revealed that Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Primary Care Trust has a £2.9M funding surplus.

The money will be banked at the end of the month and bosses say the savings show they are managing their budgets well.

   Stop closing our services if you have surplus money, suppose the government will pocket that surplus amount now?

   Where are the facilities for Shawclough?

Or is it that we should just pay up and shut up?

Also, whilst this isn't PCT money, who has trousered the cash from the sale of Birch Hill?

   Why not spend the money on paying for NHS dental patients go private since there is effectively no NHS cover in Rochdale? 3 Million would buy a lot of check ups.
