Katie Fitzpatrick

FURIOUS parents are planning to appeal after their children failed to secure places at the secondary schools of their choice for September.

A pupil at Whittaker Moss Primary in Norden failed to get even her fourth choice of high school and was told she would be attending Springhill High School.

The comment by Rochdale MBC spokesman that the nearest school will be allocated to pupils is directly against the admission criteria section iv where the MBC use 'relative proximity and ease of access'. I campaigned against this is 1999 to get my son into school culminating for some pupils getting a judicial review. I wish those appealling all the best but unfortunatley would not hold my breath.
