Teachers could strike over pay
19/ 3/2008
MORE than 1,000 teachers across Rochdale are being urged to take strike action over pay.
Members of the National Union of Teachers could go on strike for the first time in 21 years next month, forcing schools to close.
I'm a teacher and thankfully not in the out-of-date militant throwback NUT. Its not the coal / dole issues of the 1970's - there is no widespread support for strike action within teaching except for a few old militant agitators in union office. Pay is good and conditions are good - the only problem is continuing deterioration in behaviour due to chav culture and poor parenting. Keep making a show of yourselves NUT - you arnt representative of teachers, just a small rebellious politically correct minority !
