Friendship that defied war goes on and on

TWO families from Rochdale and Germany have nurtured an incredible friendship forged in a prisoner of war camp at the end of the Second World War.
In 1946 Edward Stubbs, a young staff sergeant in the Army, was posted to North Africa and was deployed at a camp in Benghazi, which housed German prisoners waiting to go back to their homeland.
