JACKSON Kay has broken away from punk-rock to go it alone mixing original lyrics with broken beats.

The solo artist from Whitworth recently began releasing his twist on traditional pop sound to exclusive pub audiences across the borough.

Jackson Kay, real name Jack Kay, describes his sound as melodic combining solo guitar riffs with pre-prepared back beats.

He has an eclectic list of influences including surfing rock and rollers the Beach Boys, Justin Timberlake’s sexy-pop-sound and Silverchair's Australian grunge.

Using his experiences of girls, alcohol and his take on recent conflicts to create simple lyrics that are  straight  to the point.

Jackson has now got a collection of original tunes that he hopes to unleash on Manchester audiences in the next few months.
