KIND and caring ... Rachel Searles.

Remembered as kind and caring

A KIND and caring woman who worked hard for her family is how Rachel Searles will be remembered by her nearest and dearest.
Mrs Searles died at her home in Milnrow last Monday. She was 82 and had battled with cancer for more than a year.
Born and raised in Salford, where she met her husband, Arnold, the couple moved to Milnrow more than 50 years ago.
Her son David said: "They moved to Egremont Road, where mum lived until her death. I think they moved to Milnrow because it was a really nice area, much more open and green than Salford, although dad still worked in the Manchester area."
Mrs Searles was very well liked and had many friends, said her son, who has a sister, Sandra.
He added: "Mum was very caring and kind. She always did part-time jobs to help her family. She liked reading and watching television, especially the soaps, and really loved her family, especially her seven grandchildren. When dad was alive they really enjoyed staying with my sister and her family in Paignton."
The funeral is tomorrow (Thursday) at Rochdale Cemetery, at 11am. Further inquiries to Leach and Clegg Funeral Service, telephone 647377.
