   Does anyone remember the Cooper Family from New York Street in the 60's or early 70's. Or maybe from Kingsway Middle School or Balderstone High? What about Mr. Blackham and Mr. Ford?. It'd be good to hear from some locals being so far from home. Left Rochdale when I was 16-18 to go to London and then onto USA and been there ever since as a Registered Nurse. Married and has 2 sons. Spoke with his mother around 1978. He was still in Australia. I am still in the USA. Get back to Rochdale often but friends hard to find.

   Greetings from sunny Oz. Rainy Rochdale seems a lifetime ago but I remember some very good people (and bad ones) when I came down from Scotland in 1963 to work in engineering. I now hear that Whipp & Bourne is closing in Castleton and the Carlton has been demolished. What a great shame. That said, I hope they have demolished the Hostel on Castlemere Street and that certain evil people will meet their maker before burning in hell. 45 years ago but some memories do not fade. Anyway, became a £10 Pomme, married my beautiful Dee (now passed away) but blessed with wonderful grandchildren.
